| 1994 exhaust back pressure / drag pipes
I have bought a used custom 1994 custom show sportster. the bike has the big bore kit and a ton of chromed out parts. however I have tried tried jetting it and added torque cones but I am still having signiificant HP/torgue issues between 2200 - 3200 RPM. the bike came with drag pipes which hekp with the appearance but is killing me whne riding it unless I continually want to be above 3300 RPM. the bike dyno at 78 hore with existing set up but between the above mentioned rpms it drops to about the 40 HP and does the sputter dance. I hate to change the pipes as there isn't a huge selection og older good looking pipes. my question is follows is there anything I can do to get this thig running better with the exisitng pipes and if not what is the big differnce with the pipes that are listed for 2004 and above as there is some that look much better and would look great on the bike. If I had to change to pipes from before 04 can anybody reccomend a great pipe?
